Bobby Mukherrji Architects expertly led the design and refurbishment of over 75% of the property, skillfully blending the building's industrial heritage with contemporary elegance. Drawing inspiration directly from the site's past, the hotel interior design embraces the theme of fashion and artisanal craftsmanship. Original elements referencing the hat-making legacy are thoughtfully preserved and integrated throughout the interiors, creating a distinctive ambiance that celebrates the storied history. The boutique guest rooms, offered in various shapes and layouts, embody New York’s dynamic character through rich textures, bespoke detailing, and modern comforts. With every corner designed to surprise, the Refinery Hotel offers an immersive experience that pays homage to its artisanal roots while catering to the sensibilities of the modern luxury traveller. This project establishes a benchmark for historic architecture adaptive reuse in Manhattan.
