Architecturally defined by a pared-down version of the ornate Rajasthani palace style, the Jaisalmer Marriott Resort & Spa was developed by Bobby Mukherrji Architects at an intimate scale of 135 rooms. The minimalist form of the architecture echoes the austere, sweeping lines of the region’s iconic sand dunes.
Bobby Mukherrji Architects successfully delivered a high-end luxury look on a strict budget by leveraging the design studio’s strength in creating more with less. This was achieved through the strategic employment of tone-on-tone colors and small, yet impactful, well-crafted details. Lighting, a relatively low-cost design component, played a large role in creating a heightened, upscale spatial experience. So impactful was the result of these strategies that the property's initial placement in the mid-priced band was changed to positioning it firmly within the luxury segment, demonstrating the power of smart, resource-efficient design in high-end hospitality.
