The design for this duplex apartment, situated in South Mumbai’s prime Nepean Sea neighbourhood, embraces a sophisticated neo-classic, colonial-inspired style. Bobby Mukherrji Architects crafted a grand double-height entrance atrium that acts as the prelude to the richly detailed narrative . This foyer features a sculptural staircase with intricate railings and a striking lighting installation that cascades into the stairwell. A bold-grained, luxurious white marble sets the textural stage for the immersive, crafted interiors.
The living environment combines classic elements; scrolled chaises, claw-footed tables, panelled walls, and waffle ceilings, to create an old-world influence that is distinctly current. Programmatically, the entrance lounge flows into a family room and bar, which then connects to the formal living and dining area. The upper floor accommodates the bedrooms. The master bedroom attains its own personality with flooring that shifts from white marble to Nero Marquina. Its spacious, classically detailed ensuite bathroom adheres to the overall stylistic direction, while a guest room and a versatile study/gym complete the well-rounded layout.
