Westin Hotel, Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India

Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India

Guided by the principles of biophilic design, the Westin Hotel in Pahalgam, Kashmir, was conceived by Bobby Mukherrji Architects as a serene wellness retreat. This luxury hotel seamlessly blends contemporary sophistication with the region’s rich cultural and natural heritage. The design draws deep inspiration from the magnificent Himalayan landscape, Kashmiri traditions, and indigenous materials . Located beside the iconic Pahalgam Golf Course, this luxury hotel captures the regional essence of Kashmir, offering majestic views of pine forests and snow-clad peaks. Bobby Mukherrji Architects celebrated nature through architecture, incorporating seamless indoor-outdoor transitions, natural textures, and a palette influenced by Kashmiri crafts and local artistry =. The interiors are defined by an earthy palette, walnut woodwork, intricate carvings, and motifs inspired by the Chinar leaf and Lidder River. With 100 thoughtfully designed keys, including Standard King and Double Double rooms, the hotel offers dining spaces, a banquet hall, outdoor cafés, and tranquil corridors. This design actively reinforces the core intent: to restore mind, body, and soul. The property serves not only as a high-end destination for tourists and pilgrims (en route to the Amarnath Yatra) but also as a design benchmark for luxury in harmony with ecology and regional identity.
