A first-of-its-kind offering by Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, the Oberoi Villa is an uber-luxe bungalow property set on the pristine Mandrem beach, North Goa. This hospitality project, driven by Oberoi’s impeccable service and attention to detail, was developed by Bobby Mukherrji Architects. The design cultivates an indulgent mood, liberating the spirit with high-ceilinged volumes, green spaces woven into the layout, and tactile furnishings that perfectly balance earthiness and sophistication .
The spacious, Ground + One, pitched-roof building nestles within beautifully landscaped grounds, where the manicured gardens mingle seamlessly with the soft white sands of the beach. Guest arrival begins via a short, bamboo-lined driveway, leading to a private drop-off point. Privacy is afforded via a portal set within the compound walls, leading to a walkway flanked by shallow reflective pools and shaded by frangipani. This walk culminates in a double-height entrance lounge, a spatial cross-road connecting the corridors and stairs to all bedrooms.
Beyond this lies the formal living space and dining room, attended by a courtyard providing scope for alfresco meals. The aesthetic direction is inspired by Tulum style, a tropical vibe that avoids overtly rustic or city-slick aesthetics. This unique direction encourages the idea of barefoot luxury living. The coastal paradise also features a pool, a shade coconut grove, pavilions for sundown gatherings, a deck for partying, wellness therapies, and a beach-facing conversation pit. All interiors, from furniture to wall treatments, were painstakingly vetted to fit the desired stylistic slot, and robust weather-proofing was applied to combat Goa’s high humidity, reflecting Bobby Mukherrji Architects’ focus on both form and function.
