Vividus, Bengaluru

City Centre, Bangalore, India

Fresh, contemporary and vivid. The brand traits of this 108-key hotel in Bengaluru also informed BMA’s approach to its architecture and interior design. Located on Race Course Road, the boutique property counts Gen-Y from the surrounding IT parks as its target audience, and therefore, the design narrative follows an ultra-modern, future-looking aesthetic. Treading a fine line between exuberance and restraint, the visual expression is articulated through juxtapositions of rich materials done in a minimal manner.

The rooms and suites weave technology with warmth. They are fully automated and bring together several new-age features — notably the smart glass partition between the sleeping and bathing areas that turn opaque at the press of a button and the roller blinds at the windows that can be similarly operated. This was a conscious decision taken to gain traction with the primary demographic. At the same time, the extensive veneer panelling and warm lighting give these guest spaces a wonderfully cocooned atmosphere. The furniture is comfortable and soft-edged, peppered with small retro touches in places. In many rooms, the spatial experience is heightened by the view of the beautiful old trees that embrace this property all around.
